Can I register to vote?

If you are a legal resident 18 years of age or older you can register to vote at the Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours up until 10 days before an election, otherwise you will have to register to vote at the polls on Election Day.   The Town Clerk’s office is located in the center of the George B. White Building at 8 Raymond Rd, Deerfield, NH.

The Town Clerk’s office is open Monday - Tuesday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm, Wednesday 8:00 am - 7:00 pm, Thursday - Friday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm.

What documents do I need to become a registered voter?

You will need to prove your identification and Deerfield domicile prior to completing the New Hampshire voter registration form.  

For identification you must provide proof such as:  valid driver’s license, non-driver’s ID, passport, student ID.

To prove your Deerfield domicile, you must provide proof such as: utility bill postmarked within the last 30 days, motor vehicle registration.

Where are the polls?

The polling location is usually set up at the old Town Hall located at 10 Church Street.

What are the polling hours?

The polls open at 7:00 am and close at 7:00 pm on Election Day.  

When is the next election?

The 2nd Tuesday in March is always local voting day in Deerfield.  The Deliberative Session is usually held about a month before this.  Check out the Town’s website for important election dates at http://www.townofdeerfieldnh.com

What if I can’t make it to the polls on Election Day?

If you are a qualified voter who is unable to make it to the polls on Election Day you can still vote by absentee ballot.  Absentee Ballot applications can be downloaded from the town website and forwarded to the Town Clerk’s office for processing.
