The mission of the Philbrick-James Library is to provide a wealth of materials in a variety of formats to encourage a love of reading for education, information, and recreation and to foster a curiosity for
lifelong learning for all ages. We will create an atmosphere which is welcoming and inclusive. The library
will be an educational hub of the community, working with the public school and other agencies to provide the services which community members need.
We will seek to provide additional materials by borrowing through the inter-library loan system instituted by the New Hampshire State Library.
We will strive to meet recommended standards of library service when possible within budgetary constraints.
We gladly accept donations, and are grateful for new and gently used books, audios (no cassettes) and DVDs. Kindly contact us first about large donations. But PLEASE do not abandon boxes of items on our steps when we are not open, or in our entryway without asking first. We do not accept old, moldy or damaged books, textbooks, outdated manuals or encyclopedia sets. Thank you for your cooperation. Thank you for thinking of us!
A Reminder: Our Bookdrop is now located by our back door. As always, kindly use it only when we are closed. Please bring books in and return them on the circulation desk when we are open. Thanks!
Library materials belong to all of us. Please return borrowed items on time. Remember that items may be renewed by telephone as long as the item is not reserved for another patron. Have the item handy so you can supply the date due, the author and title. Thank you for your help!
