Health Department

It is the role of the local Health Officer to be knowledgeable of local and state codes and laws as they pertain to public health. The Health Officer investigates reports of unsanitary conditions that may affect the general public and assists property owners in resolving any issues found. The Health Officer inspects foster homes, day cares and schools as well as other places of public gathering to ensure health codes are met and assist responsible parties with remedying deficiencies found. The Health Officer may also assist state agencies with investigations as well as aiding other local officials in their duties.
