Transportation

Rockingham Nutrition & Meals on Wheels.  Call TRIPLINK at (603) 834-6010.  Or go to www.CommunityRides.org/.  TTY/Voice 1-800-735-2964.  Providing rides for adults 60 years of age and older.  Suggested contribution of $3 roundtrip for shopping, medical appointments and errands.  There are variations for shopping, medical appointments, and errands scheduling across Towns, so please call for specific information.

DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS - Veterans Transportation Service - Non-emergency medical transportation for qualifying veterans. PHONE NUMBER 603-624-4366 ext. 2883.

Nutrition

Deerfield Food Pantry: Call Faith at 603-463-7800. The Food Pantry distributes FREE fruits and vegetables, meats and canned/boxed goods to eligible seniors. Distribution is the final Friday of the month from rear entrance, Deerfield Community Church, 15 Church St. 

Meals on Wheels Program: Call 603-679-2201. Nutritious meals are delivered Monday through Friday to senior and disabled Deerfield residents. If needed, special diets are available. If you can afford it, there is a suggested donation of $2. (If you cannot, please note The Town of Deerfield gives money to this organization every year).

Food Stamps - Offered by NH DHHSApply online here or call 603-433-8300. The Program provides eligible individuals and households with benefits to buy food items at grocery stores and other participating food retailers.  Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP): Call 603-895-2303. Administered by Rockingham Community Action Program, 55 Prescott Road, Raymond, NH. CSFP provides free food and nutrition information to promote good health for seniors age 60 and over, children up to age 6 and postpartum women for a year after the birth of a child.

Information to help you complete an advance directive based on requirements under NH law. Also there is information to assist a person who is making health care decisions for another person and an explanation about Portable Do Not Resuscitate (P-DNR) medical orders and Provider Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST) in NH.

Library

Philbrick-James Library: 4 Church Street – call 603-463-7187. The Library offers a wide array of FREE services including large print books, books on tape/CD; video & DVD movies, hi-speed internet and computers. Come enjoy the new books, daily newspapers or one of 17 magazines! The Library also has NH museum passes for the public. Don’t forget to ask about TALKING BOOKS, a free service offered by the NH State Library to all NH residents who are physically unable to see, handle or process printed material comfortably.

Deerfield Parks & Recreation Department: Call 603-463-8811 x305. The Town offers programs for seniors including Line Dancing, Exercise Program. Look for other events!
